If you're a 1st time trailer buyer and have never leveled a trailer. This article is for you!

Trailer leveling is a simple process that only requires a few steps to get right. However if it's your first time, it may be confusing on what to do and in what order to do it. So, here is an outline of the basic steps to achieve perfect level properly with your new trailer!

Step 1: Leveling from side-to-side

If possible, try to find the flattest area for your trailer with the ground sloping towards the front or back of your trailer. Clear debris from the area. Leave your trailer hitched.

Lay a bubble level side-to-side in the doorway of the trailer and plan to raise the side which appears lower on the level.

Place leveling blocks near the tires (stacking them like Lego) and drive your trailer onto the blocks.

Then, firmly place chocks under the tires. Like so...

Step 2: Leveling from front-to-back

Place wood or a wheel dock underneath the tongue jack and unhitch your trailer. Put the bubble level back in the doorway of the camper (this time front-to-back).

If needed, view your owners manual to see how to adjust your tongue jack. Usually you will have a hand crank that will raise or lower the jack.

Raise or lower the tongue jack accordingly and check the level placed in your trailers doorway to ensure it is level.

Step 3: Stabilizing

Your stabilizer jacks will help prevent rocking of your trailer and ensure it does not fall out of level. DO NOT use your stabilizers to level or support the trailer. Doing so can lead to expensive frame damage or permanent jack damage.

Place wood or jack stands underneath the stabilizer jacks and lower them firmly into place.

And you're done! It is that easy!!
